Python
The language everyone has their eyes on,
These days everyone loves Python.

AI, ML or data science — it will take you places,
Just be careful to mind your spaces.

But is it because it is good, or because it is free,
who knows — but, don't use version two, use three!

Java
In Java write once, they said, and it will run anywhere,
And so they did — without a reason or care.

It now runs banks, governments and our phones,
It runs our cars, fills taxes, gives out loans.

It used to be new, cool, funky, but — lol,
It’s now turned into new COBOL

C#
C-sharp runs on Windows, is loved by the enterprise,
It can run on other platforms too, but no one really tries.

It is a far better Java some people think,
It’s got better generics, async and LINQ.

But for some reason, it's still nondescript,
Even its inventor now works with JavaScript.

JavaScript
It runs in the browser, so its influence is great,
Even if JavaScript is one that coders love to hate!

None is an object, Not a Number, a Number,
Some of its libraries are Algolia, Bideo, Cucumber!

Not sure what is worse, it's crimes against reason,
Or it’s English language high treason!

SQL
Is it Es-Que-El or Sequel – take your pick, toss a coin,
Just like the choice between an outer apply and a cross join.

No-SQL for a brief time threatened to take its crown,
But SQL has without a doubt, roared back into town.

Even if many a database developer has run down the clock,
Trying to decipher the graph of a deadlock!
